First Japanese subtitles for VR star YouTube channel, localized shopping site.
In this time of uncertainty caused by the Corona pandemic, people are avoiding travel, commuting, restaurants and public places as much as possible. They try to spend as much time at home as they can. People are changing their daily life habits across the world.
Clicking the Captions menu in the corner down to the right turns on subtitles.
Every cloud has a silver lining, and we now see Japan waking up to the possibilities VR can open. VR takes you to other worlds and lets you meet and play with other people without leaving your house. Unlike video calls, it doesn't flatten the world when you connect to the outside. Geektech AB of Sweden, makers of the Mamut line of VR accessories, had the foresight to make VR more accessible to customers in Japan. They asked us to translate an episode of The Oasis (a popular YouTube channel) into Japanese. They also asked us to translate their e-commerce site to make it easy for Japanese customers to order their products. We thank Mike at the Oasis as well as Geektech and look forward to seeing a growing number of Japanese VR-gamers using Mamut! |
